Wrongful Death of Autistic Teenager at Care Facility

Our clients, the family of an autistic teenager, sued a facility for autistic children after their son died while in the facility's care. The facility's staff had been given medication to administer to the teenager in case certain symptoms arose. The facility lost track of the teenager for several hours while he was at the center. During this time, he experienced these symptoms. There were issues relating to causation over whether the teenager would have died even if he had been given his medication, but we convinced the owners of the facility that if the case went to trial we would persuade the jury that the facility had been at fault. The case was resolved for $500,000.
